Overview

Architectural design at Al Hashim Associates starts with how a building is actually going to be used — by whom, at what times of day, and under Karachi's own climate and site conditions — before a single line is drawn. That understanding shapes every decision that follows: massing, orientation, material choice and how spaces connect to one another.

Because the same studio that designs a building also documents it for construction, architectural drawings are produced with buildability in mind from the start. Structural and MEP coordination happens during design development, not after — reducing the clashes and site revisions that come from designs handed off between separate firms.

This service is delivered for residential homes, commercial buildings and mixed-use developments alike, with the same rigor applied at every scale — from a single-family home in Karachi to a multi-unit commercial address.

Site analysis and feasibility studies

Every project starts with understanding the site itself — orientation, soil and access conditions, local by-laws and what's realistically buildable — before design work begins.

Concept design and spatial planning

Initial massing and layout options are developed around how the space will actually be used, testing different arrangements before committing to one direction.

3D visualization and design presentation

Design intent is shown through 3D renders and walkthroughs, so decisions are made looking at the space as it will actually appear, not just floor plans.

Construction drawing sets and detailing

Detailed drawing sets — plans, sections, elevations and construction details — are produced to a standard the site team and contractors can build from directly.

Coordination with structural and MEP consultants

Structural and MEP input is folded into the design during development, not bolted on afterward, so the drawings that reach site are already coordinated.

Regulatory submission and approval support

Drawings and documentation are prepared and submitted for the approvals a project needs, with the studio managing the process on the client's behalf.
